Introduction
The Cusco jungle, surrounded by dense forests and inaccessible places, has harbored within its depths Inca cities like Machu Picchu and Choquequirao. These beautiful complexes remained undiscovered by invaders, which is why the degree of preservation of their structures is admired by people around the world. Vilcabamba, also located between mountainous areas and high jungle, allowed refuge from the conquerors, resulting in the preservation to this day of beautiful Inca complexes such as Vitcus, Rosaspata, and the so-called last Inca refuge "Espiritupampa". These are located near the Pongo de Mainique, where the Matchiguengas once lived.
Ecoterra Inka Lodge offers the opportunity to visit these marvelous archaeological complexes and explore the Megantoni Sanctuary "Pongo de Mainique" through fully organized tours from our facilities.
